Center for Peace and Global Citizenship Fellowships

CPGC Fellowships are funded summer internship and professional development opportunities. Internships may occur anywhere in the world and in any major or sector, though they all intersect with the themes of peace, justice, inclusion, and sustainability.

Application Deadlines:

  • Partnership applications: February 8, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET

  • Self-designed applications: February 15, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET

Fellowship Program Dates: Late March - late October (see details below)

Funding:

  • The base stipend is $4,000 for a full summer (8 - 10 week) internship.

    • Applicants may request additional funding in support of reasonably expected food, travel, lodging costs, program fees and required vaccinations/medications (if applicable).

    • Applicants complete a budget detailing and justifying all expected internship expenses.

    • Additional funding is awarded based on the quality of the application, funding availability and expected cost of internship.

    • Half-time internships (4 - 5 weeks) are pro-rated for a $2,000 stipend; other variations based on that formula are possible.

    • All stipends are considered taxable income.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be a Haverford first year, sophomore or junior at the time of application.

Additional Commitments (aka, what makes this experience more than just an Internship?):

  • CPGC Fellowships are professional development and learning opportunities that include important preparatory and reflection work before, during, and after the summer.

    • Fellowships begin after Spring Break, the week of 3/30, with the half-credit course, PEACH105: Global Solidarity and Local Actions: Interdependence, Intercultural Understanding, Social Change, to prepare students for their internship experience.

    • To harness summer learning and align experience with next steps on campus and in the professional world, CPGC Fellows enroll in a half-credit course for the first portion of the Fall Semester, PEACH218: Work and Justice - Personal Growth, Structural Analysis, and Change.

  • Fellows complete reflection assignments and provide a photo from their experience over the summer during their internship. Fellows also have check-ins with staff who provide support throughout the experience.

  • To complete the Fellowship, students participate in the CPGC Poster Fair and Ignite Presentations in October.

Additional opportunities:

  • Students applying to Philadelphia-based partnerships are also eligible to apply for an enhanced, full-year fellowship through the Philadelphia Justice and Equity Fellowship.  To learn more about CPGC Fellowships please review the CPGC Website.
