The Chesick Scholars Program of Haverford College now offers funding for Chesick students in the summer after their first, second, or third years of college to support a meaningful, unpaid experience. Students may choose one of two pathways:
Work in an established internship program with a company, non-profit, research lab, etc.
Create an independently designed project in consultation with a Haverford faculty liaison.
In either case, the student will work, volunteer, or conduct independent research full-time (at least 35 hours per week) for 8-10 weeks during the summer and receive a total taxable stipend of up to $5,300 (dependent on other funding received). Consideration will be given to part-time projects (either fewer hours per week or for fewer weeks) and funding will be prorated. Projects should be related to the students’ academic interests and/or possible future career pathways.
Students applying for the first time will be given priority consideration.
